These past few weeks have been a steep learning curve for me, in terms of the marketing and production of the book. So much work has been going on behind the scenes. My Marketing Manager has created an author platform using a number of social media outlets. Furthermore, she has been working closely with the Publishing Company to secure media coverage and a Blog Book Tour. Plans are in progress for the book launch and additional book signings, all details will be posted on the website.
For my part I have been researching additional retailers by visiting local book shops. Recently, I spent a very pleasant time with my husband in the historical market town of Newark on Trent in the East Midlands of England. The origins of which are possibly Roman. Newark has a rich and varied history which includes the well documented siege at Newark Castle by Parliamentary forces during the English civil war.
As I walked past the castle grounds, my mind wandered back in time. You will be wrong if you are now thinking I am imagining the great battle that took place at the castle.
No, this was recent history, just over a decade ago when my son and daughter organised a surprise birthday treat for me in the grounds of the castle. We watched an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet “they had packed a picnic basket full of delicious treats and drinks for us all to share. It was a cultural, fun filled day, etched into my memory forever.
