It was my honour and privilege to attend the ‘Inner Wheel Club’ Christmas Market-coffee morning, yesterday, November 16th, which was held at ‘The John Fretwell Centre, Mansfield.
The Inner Wheel Club of Warsop, have appointed Autism East Midlands as their official charity of the year. The members of the Inner Wheel Club, host a series of events to raise money/donations and promote the awareness of, Autism East Midlands services.’
The president, Helen Tomlinson in a recent post, sincerely reported her heartfelt reasons for choosing this worthy charity.
‘I have chosen Autism East Midlands as my charity for I hold this cause close to my heart. Many people close to me have been affected by the challenges of Autism and the whole spectrum.
The support that is given by Autism East Midlands to so many families is one that should never be taken likely and I look forward to being able to support them during my year as president.’
My latest book ‘Love Secrets and Absolution’ published by The Globeflower Agency, raises the awareness of Asperger’s, which is part of the autistic spectrum.
Throughout the story, the reader can begin to understand how it might feel to have a mind that is not neurotypical. Told from the point of view of ‘Alfie’ the main protagonist, the story follows his life from just before he is born until he is a teenager. Essentially, this is a coming of age story with a difference.
Although risky on my part. I have introduced Alfie, just before he is born in order to allow the reader to have an insight into his young mind. This allows the reader to consider the nature /nurture debate, which is raised by his father Paul, who at first believes that it is his wife Grace who is reinforcing Alfie’s behaviour.
Please take a look at the story and leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. I am always interested to read honest and open reviews about my work.
