A Mansfield author has launched her debut novel, telling the emotional story of woman battling addiction. Katie Loveley, who writes under the name KL Lovely, launched her tale, Alice, at the Faff Room, Mansfield Woodhouse, and signed books for residents who turned out for the event.

A Mansfield Woodhouse author is set to meet the public for the first time, as she signs copies of her debut novel “Alice” tomorrow.
Sixty-Three year old K.L.Loveley will be at the Faff Rooms in Mansfield Woodhouse tomorrow (Saturday 25th February) to sign copies of “Alice” and chat to readers in more detail about her debut novel.

Mansfield, Ashfield and Warsop News Journal

A writer from Mansfield Woodhouse is celebrating after having her debut novel published. The local woman — who writes under the pen name K.L. Loveley — has been a nurse with the NHS for more than 40 years, the last 20 as a practice nurse in primary care.

She said she has been able to transfer her medical and social issues knowledge from the workplace into her writing. Her debut novel, Alice, is a gritty, but realistic story of a woman who finds herself in desperate straits.

Mercia Marina Newsletter

The Newsletter, last year, celebrated both David Brazier and Nancy Harman as published authors and now the Marina can add two more names to the list: K. L. Loveley and Andy Ellis.

May I introduce myself to all fellow boaters on the wonderful Mercia Marina. My husband and I have enjoyed mooring here for the past five years (how time flies!). During this time, I have spent many happy hours writing my book “Alice” written under the pen name “K.L. Loveley”. I would like to share my news with you about the publication of my debut novel due out on 31st January 2017. I feel that it may be of interest to some of you as the thread of the story involves a recovery process that takes place while cruising along the Grand Union canal towards the centre of Nottingham.
